WWE Making Major Changes with Referees

Reported By Patrick W. Boucher on Nov 20, 2008 - 12:55:46 PM

- WWE is in the middle of changing their policy on referees. In the past, the company’s referees have been assigned to certain brands and tours but now WWE is doing away with that distinction.

WWE will now have one group of referees on the road one week, then another group on the next loop. WWE will be going by seniority, so referees who have a longer tenure will get more work while others may be sent back down to WWE developmental or possibly eliminated altogether. This is another financial cutback being made within the company due to the current economic situation.
