EXCLUSIVE: Should TNA Sign Mr. Kennedy; TNA's Future

Reported By Patrick W. Boucher on Jun 9, 2009 - 3:42:11 PM

TNA has been criticized for it’s interest in signing released WWE stars, but one can not criticize TNA for their interest in Mr Kennedy.

Despite being dubbed as Injury Prone, he is still a gifted wrestler and his name still packs a great punch.  Kennedy was held back due to several injuries and a drug policy violation, in the midst of the biggest push of his career.

If Kennedy decides to sign with TNA after the no-compete clause, TNA would definitely have a great attraction.  If utilized correctly, Kennedy could become a key role in TNA’s growth in the coming years.

With star’s like Angle, Sting, Nash and Steiner on the downside of their career, TNA is in need of building up their younger stars.  Although some are not considered young, they have been held back from title pushes since signing big names.

Guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and the list goes on and on.  The core of TNA’s roster is amazing and if used correctly, they could vault their product in to a ratings war with WWE in the next three years.

The keyword in that would have to be correctly.  TNA has had the tendency of using less wrestling and more promos and illogical storylines.  There is a formula TNA needs to create to wean out of excessive promos and start focusing more on realistic storylines that help build up a PPV.

I do find myself questioning several things TNA has done over the past year and a half.  Signing former WWE wrestlers, storylines, etc.  They have all been critiqued by me more than once and that won’t change.  I talk bad about TNA at times in hopes of getting them to realize the product could be that much better.

TNA’s future is here, it lies within the officials hands what they do with it.  TNA has seen so much growth since debuting.  From going to a weekly PPV show, to a one hour cable show, to a two-hour cable show.  The growth is there, the audience is there.  I believe in TNA’s long-term future, do you?  You can reply to this blog or give your own thoughts by sounding off in our official fan forums.  You can register HERE, which only takes 30 seconds, or if you are logged in, simply click HERE.
