As we have been reporting over the last 24 hours, Vickie Guerrero is indeed on her way out of WWE. This leaves the RAW GM position open. Vickie played one of the best heels to ever grace the RAW or SmackDown roster.
There are several candidates who could fulfill the job, so lets take a look at several obvious choices.
The Nature Boy Ric Flair. Now this would not be a huge surprise, but it would be a welcomed move on WWE’s creative team. Ric has no intentions on wrestling in the WWE, or in the US for that matter. What better way than to have him manage the WWE’s flagship show, RAW. Flair can easily play a heel or baby face.
The next candidate would have to be The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. Michaels has not been seen since WrestleMania and is still tending to his children’s needs as a father and recovering from nagging injuries. HBK’s in-ring career is on the downside and is wanting more time off to spend with his family. HBK could take over the GM position for a few months or even weeks and then return to the ring after setting up a big angle with a young prospect.
Could the McMahon’s return be on the horizon? Vince, Shane or Stephanie? This is the most likely case, but something I would hold off on for atleast another month or two. Vince always gets you interested in what’s going to happen next. Shane has never really established himself as an on-air talent.
The most shocking and riveting possibility would be The Undertaker. Yes, I know, it’s a dumb idea but hey, it would be the most shocking moment of RAW in many years. Undertaker’s physical health is a concern and WWE has to consider limiting his wrestling even further. Undertaker returning to RAW to take over as GM would send shockwaves through the entire WWE Universe. RAW would go from being the promo-infested, fun show to a dark and twisted RAW. I would tune in each week just to witness what kind of destruction would take place.
These are just several ideas I have been thinking of since hearing the news this morning of Vickie Guerrero’s departure.
