According to Yahoo Sports, current UFC Heavyweight Champion, and former WWE superstar, Brock Lesnar has pulled out of his main event fight scheduled for UFC 106 against Shane Carwin. Lesnar was forced to pull out of the event due to an unspecified illness.
UFC President Dana White spoke with Yahoo, stating that he has been battling a sickness for over three weeks and was unable to train for his first title defense, since unifying the UFC title earlier this year.
White quickly shot down the report of Lesnar battling the H1N1 virus, also known as the Swine Flu.
The fight has been rescheduled for UFC annual year-end show, which will take place on January 2nd.
Shane Carwin received the news of the fight postponement via the online media outlets, and quickly responded via his twitter page.
“Very disappointed,” Carwin said. “It's dissappinting hearing about your career and life through the media. Nothing from the boss's yet.”
In light of the fight’s postponement, UFC 106 will be headlined by Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin, which was slated to co-headline the event.
