2009 WWE Supplemental Draft Thoughts - Good Or Bad Changes?

Reported By Patrick W. Boucher on Apr 15, 2009 - 3:50:43 PM

Just two days removed from the 2009 RAW draft on RAW, WWE.com ran their annual supplemental Draft on their website.

RAW came out with several noteable names like Mr Kennedy, Festus, Carlito and Primo and many more. RAW’s talent pool has greatly increased, even after drafting big names on RAW. With the huge roster at hand, this could definitely put clouds over a number of wrestler’s who are deserving of a big push.

Mr Kennedy being drafted to RAW raises a number of questions, is he ready to return? Will his health be an issue the remainder of his career? Kennedy was in line for a HUGE push last year but was sidelined when he failed a drug test, he then went on to suffer a serious injury that may put his career to an end.

RAW lost the duo of Cryme Tyme but they also picked up the unified tag team champions Carlito and Primo - a great acquisition to the RAW roster.

SmackDown came out on top with 10 overall draft picks from the supplemental draft. Receiving the always entertaining Cryme Tyme will definitely give Smack Down a fun feel to it. John Morrison moving from ECW to SmackDown may give him a head of steam to send his career on the right path to possibly a huge push in the future?

ECW’s draft picks are just as expected, to bring over some young talent to help develop them further so they may be brought back to the main shows in the future.

Overall, the draft has definitely sent shockwaves through all three shows and gives many intriguing matchups for future shows and PPV’s. Was I shocked to see RAW come out with the big names? Not at all, RAW was expected to become the superior brand - as if we didn’t know it already was. But nonetheless, this could help elevate the viewership to bring back some fans that stepped away for a while.

Don't forget you can check out the complete supplemental draft results on the main page of PWHeadlines.com.

More thoughts on this year's entire draft will be posted later today!
