RAW is Blogged - Mr. Kennedy, Triple H, More

Saturday Night's Main Event Thoughts:
I thought SNME was the best one yet. This edition wasn't a bunch of random stuff thrown together. The Cena-Carlito match was built up as something big and it didn't last long. Thankfully, the Cena-Orton part saved it. The Vince-Austin-Others segment was pretty good. It was good to see Stone Cold back for a little while. The ECW tag match should have been earlier in the show and not the main event. It was a pretty good show.

We started off RAW with Randy Orton making his way to the ring. We got to see the RKO through the chair multiple times, which I enjoyed. JR was joined by Tazz who almost said the "road to Wrestlemania" during his intro. I looked forward to the rest of the night. Orton's promo was the best I've heard from him. Vince came out to a decent pop. Of course, he overshadows the Summerslam main event. I wouldn't expect anything less from Vince. I kept waiting on Kennedy or Shane to come on out, but it didn't happen. He took some shots at Cena, which we should all take at face value because of the stuff we've heard about Vince's feelings on Cena. Whenever Cena came out, the crowd was about 70% pro-Cena. He didn't sell his injuries whenever he came down. A real professional sells his injuries, especially when they happened 2 nights before. We all know that Vince isn't Cena's father mainly because of the stuff last year between Cena's dad & Edge. It was a good segment although the main event, Snitsky against Cena, wasn't really blockbuster. Did anybody notice the big chick that was dressed in Cena gear? She had a toy spinner belt & glasses on and if it was her yell I was hearing, I thought my ears were going to explode. She was very annoying, if that was her yell, not to mention her gushing over seeing John Cena. No, this isn't a shot at Cena or Cena fans. I'm just pointing out that annoying yell that I heard and it looked like it was her. Anyways, we get the undefeated, almost Samoan according to Vince, Snitsky against John "Buzzsaw" Cena.

The Divas tag didn't get me hyped too much until I heard Candice's new techno theme. I felt like jumping up and dancing around. What's with Beth's cape that she wears? I loved Regal's remark about the English being sexually repressed. It looked like Mickie was stalling for Beth & Melina to attack them from behind. It seemed that she was waiting and they must have forgotten about it. At least we have a Women's battle royal at Summerslam. Hopefully, a trained women's wrestler will actually win. They teased a cut throat battle royal with everybody attacking each other. That was actually good. I didn't care too much for the match, but the rest of it was good.

The segment between Regal and Santino was great. The talk about their accents was pretty funny. "You have an accent like a limp-wristed hair dresser!" That was freaking hilarious. I liked the remark about how jealousy is for the weak. That was freaking great. That segment is something they need to try and duplicate each week.

I hope that the joust isn't going to be used for their match at Summerslam. Maybe that's just King Booker talking. I don't know if he was telling the truth about Trips being in the arena. The stuff between Coach & Vince about Trips being the kid was funny, even though he is Vince's son-in-law in real life. I'm glad Val Venis was used. HELLO DADDY! That was pretty good. The stuff with Daivari was alright. They put Kennedy in there to try and throw everybody off. The going word is it's Kennedy. Vince hates that it's been leaked, so he'll do anything he can to throw fans off.

If anybody can find me Cody Rhodes' theme, I'll greatly appreciate it. The crowd didn't pop too big until they heard that Cody was from North Carolina. You have to remember, Cody is playing a rookie kind of character. So, he can't just come out and throw his whole offensive arsenal out there in a match. That's one reason why his wins are considered upsets, especially with the rollup. I kept waiting on another tag team to come out and help Cody, but I guess it wasn't part of the plan. It was a solid match.

It was good to see London & Kendrick get a match against Cade & Murdoch. Personally, I think there should be a 3-way between London & Kendrick, Cade & Murdoch, and Cryme Tyme. I don't see why Vince doesn't like tag team wrestling. Cryme Tyme came on out and took Murdoch's hat and went into the crowd and sold it, which was pretty funny. Kendrick got the upset win for his team. Um, 3-way title match at Summerslam? The funniest part was Tazz singing along with Cryme Tyme. Before we went to commercial, we saw King Booker & Queen Sharmell making their way to the ring for the coronation ceremony. I didn't know if they were kidding or not. I highly doubted it because Trips' return is supposed to be huge at Summerslam!

Simmons expanded his vocabulary to clam, lamb, jam, and yams. Haha. I could see those coming from a mile away. It was funny that Santino got Jillian's name wrong. Hey, no hard feelings from the last time you smashed my head. Haha!

There was a big "Triple H" chant during the first of the segment. Clearly, the people wanted to see the return. I kinda figured they would do something like they did. I was really expecting it to be a midget instead of a regular guy. I guess Trips will finally use the "King of Kings" music. I remember when he challenged Cena at WM22 and right before DX came back, they couldn't decide on what music he would use. They had the "Time to Play the Game" theme and the "King of Kings" theme and played both of them. I figured that when he sent the "Game" to the back, the real thing would come out. We got some of the thug Booker during his deal with JR. That was pretty funny. If I had been sitting behind JR and I knew I could get on TV, I would have probably yelled something obscene or something. At least JR didn't get slapped during the segment. This match has had some good buildup to it.

I have to say, Jillian pulls off her crappy singer gimmick well. I liked the waiter coming up and reading off the paper. That was pretty funny. Even Maria noticed that he was reading from a piece of paper. The "sham" really didn't fit very well.

It looks like they've started a Carlito-Umaga feud. I figured Carlito would some how challenge Umaga for the IC title but I didn't really expect Kennedy. We've heard the rumors about the 3-way but tonight confirmed it. Anybody notice the stuff JR said about Kennedy being Vince's son? Kennedy should have mentioned that Umaga has bulldozed everybody but Lashley & Cena. I loved it when Kennedy told Carlito to "wait for it" before he attempted to say the second KENNEDY! I liked how Regal comes out and makes stuff happen faster than Coach would but that's part of the storyline.

Regal makes a match and that takes us to Carlito vs. Kennedy. Now, I was thinking before this all happened that if Kennedy is the kid, his push should start now. He could win the belt and be like, "Look Dad, I'm the Intercontinental Champion." Or he could say, "Dad, where were you when Umaga was kicking my ass?" or something like that. The match was pretty good. I noticed that like in Ric Flair's matches with the "WOOO!" I heard a lot of "KENNEDY!" during Mr. Kennedy's matches. I just wish every now and then, like Flair, Kennedy would just, out of nowhere, say "KENNEDY!" Kennedy looked like he was having trouble with his elbow pads. They might have been the wrong size or something. We almost got to see the real version of Kennedy's "Green Bay Plunge" but it was reversed into a suplex. The finish was pretty good. It's pretty good way to get both guys in the match without losing their credibility. Another way would have been a double count out, but that would have totally sucked. Anyways, we have a great 3-way, despite little buildup, between Umaga, Carlito, and Mr. Kennedy…..KENNEDY!

During the Khaliflower-Batista promo, I got to thinking. If Khali can be World Heavyweight Champion, despite being the worst wrestler in company history, I can be World Heavyweight Champion with no wrestling training at all!

The end of the date was pretty funny. I didn't know that the waiter's name was SAM! The tray of food into Santino's lap was pretty hilarious. Anybody notice Tazz almost call John Morrison, "Johnny?"

Every time I see Snitsky, I'm waiting on him to say, "IT WASN'T MY FAULT!" The backstage segment was good. No, Snitsky isn't Vince's kid. It's me! Going into this match, I figured out a few things. The first was that Snitsky's undefeated streak was in serious jeopardy. The second was, since Cena's been getting his butt kicked when the title isn't on the line, I figured Snitsky would beat him. Cena came out to a better reaction than last week as Madison Square Garden, the Mecca of well, anything that takes place in an arena. The match was back & to. It was alright for the guys involved. The more the match went on, I figured they would do an ending like they did. You can't damage the credibility of either guy, so why not have a DQ run-in? I enjoyed the 2 RKO's that Orton gave Cena. I thought it was cool how Orton stared the belt down at the end. It was a decent RAW, but it could have been a little better.
