I don't really have much of an opinion on No Mercy. While we got 3 WWE Championship matches, it was just a big stroke of Triple H's ego. He had to squash Orton before he put him over later. He got closer to eclipsing Ric Flair's 16 title reigns with 11. I mean, a pizza eating contest? I'm very glad I didn't spend money on this.
The opening segment was pretty good. I just hope they bring back the old WWE title and not that damn spinner belt.
I prefer Beth's rock music than this psycho slow stuff. The techno entrance with all three was good. What's funny is to see the crowd and look at their faces. They could honestly give a shit about the match itself. I don't really care much about this match either. I took the time to see if the Yankees were still losing. Either way, my Red Sox are going to kick some ass.
Santino was funny but don't even start comparing him to the Rock. Rock could deliver on all levels and Santino isn't even close. Snitsky returned tonight, I guess from suspension, and destroyed Val "I Used to be good" Venis. Snitsky won of course.
The recap of Matt Hardy and Evander Holyfield was a laugher. A big match feel? I hope Evander wins but I couldn't care less about that. The recap with Cena getting injured is somewhat funny mainly because they refer to the RKO onto the announce table as the dirty deed. In case you don't know, it was the botched hip toss Cena performed on Kennedy that sealed the deal.
The newest video, I presume for Jericho, aired before Cena ruined everything. I noticed the "SAVE.US_222" and the "REV_22.12" and the other stuff. I'm hoping it's Jericho. I saw on the comment board that he could be part of the special referee on the Smackdown side of things. That's an idea. Personally, I wish they would do what they did when Undertaker returned as the American Bad Ass. In the middle of the main event, either all 3 or the compilation we saw tonight starts playing. When it gets done, the pyro goes off and Jericho comes down and either destroys both guys or destroys Triple H or just Orton. The going word is it will be Triple H chasing Orton and probably winning before Wrestlemania then Kennedy will step in with the illegitimate son stuff.
Cena's promo was decent. He smiled at the boos he got. I guess if I was in his position, I would smile, too. Personally, I'm going to miss him because he did what he was told and busted his ass.
The handicap match was somewhat brutal. Trips bled of course. I thought it was good with Trips trying to make the come back and the heels gaining the advantage. If you're going to be a face, sometimes you need to take a beating to get over. You can't always overcome the odds and win. The only thing is, the night before they made Umaga look weak. For the second night in a row, Trips sold the beating and got a standing O when he left the ring. Stroke that ego, big boy, stroke it.
I'm glad London & Kendrick finally got their own shirt. They debuted it last week, I believe. I also saw it in the Shop section of WWE Magazine. Despite the crowd not being into the match, I was into the match. It was actually good.
Next time Lillian sings, how about some subtitles so we know what the hell she's yelling about? Santino's version of Amy Whinehouse's "Rehab" was freakin' funny. Clearly, it was the best thing on RAW at that point. "Try to make me watch The Condemned and I say no, no, no." I'm still laughing from that one.
I'm not going to sit here and give you people lip service. Kennedy is the future of sports entertainment. But, he's got two things that need to happen. The first is stay healthy of course and the second is to not get busted for drugs. I can hear it now. "Now that I have everybody's attention, I weigh in tonight at an astonishing two hundred and forty six pounds. I hail…from…GREEN…BAY…WISCONSIN…and I AM…YOUR…W...W...E...CHAMPION…MISTERRRRRRRRR….KENNNEDDY……KENNEDY!! I loved the dueling chants. I'm always up for a dueling chant during matches. This was better than the Kennedy-Carlito match from a few weeks back.
Hornswoggle beating up Coach was good. He really had been taking an extended nap. Seriously.
It didn't look like the entire WWE Roster but just the RAW roster. I'm seriously hoping they change the belt. That belt just reeks of Cena. I figured Triple H would attack Orton from behind or something. BUT, to my surprise and all of the SAVE.US video haters, HBK IS BACK!!!
Santino's singing, the Hardy-Kennedy match, and the return of HBK were the best parts of the night. Everything else sucked.
