It's Survivor Series time and it's time for my picks & previews!
Hornswoggle vs.
The Great KhaliI'm hoping this is a comedy match. Hornswoggle is fun to watch but his comedic appeal is losing it's luster. As long as it's over quick, I'm fine with it. If it's just something to toss Hornswoggle around and bore everybody to death, I'm not for it. I usually pull for the underdog in this situation, so I'm going with Hornswoggle.
My Projected Winner: Hornswoggle
10-Diva Tag Team MatchTeam Beth: Beth, Jillian, Melina, Victoria & Layla
vs.
Team Mickie: Mickie, Michelle, Kelly, Maria, & Torrie
There isn't too much to this match. It's plenty of eye candy and it's a classic heels vs. faces. Beth will probably be the star of this match. I wouldn't doubt she just takes every face out and even her heel teammates. She's hot. She can wrestle and I would let her kick my ass. Other than that, there's nothing too special about this match.
My Projected Winner: Team Beth
Traditional Survivor Series Elimination MatchTeam Triple H: Triple H, Matt & Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, & Kane
vs.
Team Umaga: Umaga, Mr. Kennedy, MVP, Finlay, & Big Daddy V
Well this is an interesting match. I do like this year how people involved with feuds are in the match instead of them being spread out all over the place. I find it funny that Kane is on the same team as Triple H and Matt Hardy. Does the creative team remember the Katie Vick angle with Triple H and Kane? They feuded and unified the Intercontinental & World Heavyweight Championships and later went on to unmask Kane. Did they forget about that? And I'm supposed to be nice about the creative team when they use no logic? Moving on, Kane also had a feud over Lita against Matt Hardy. They took part in a "til death do us part" match at Summerslam. The creative team just throws this away, why? I guess it's like every other heel-face turn and they just expect everybody to forget about that stuff. The average fun would be if you're reading this, chances are, you're not the average fan. I hope the Kennedy-Hardy feud leads to something big for both of them. They could work and take each other to the next level, much like The Rock and Triple H did. The best wrestling feud with contrasting styles going on right now is between Mysterio and Finlay. I enjoy watching them work together because they actually know how to work. The other good storyline that's going on is the Hardy-MVP feud. They're gone a little stale the past week or two. However, with the loss of the tag belts, I expect this feud to catch fire once again. Oh yeah, Big Flabby V is involved in the match but nothing too special.
My Projected Winner: Team Triple H
World Tag Team ChampionshipCade & Murdoch © vs.
Cody Rhodes & Hardcore HollyIt's too early in this feud to have a title change. I personally like the Holly-Rhodes partnership. It's the veteran showing the rookie the ropes and I like that type of thing. They're teasing a Cade-Murdoch split, which is stupid. Then again, if you're going to have them be destroyed by Cena, Triple H, Batista, and Undertaker in the same year, you might as well dissolve the team and the titles. Most people felt that the squash on Monday was ok. Well, it wasn't with me. I mean, the champions are constantly being buried. It would have been better if they had beaten Batista & Undertaker, or at least lost by DQ. I see Cade & Murdoch keeping the belts a little longer.
My Projected Winner: Cade & Murdoch
ECW ChampionshipTriple Threat MatchCM Punk © vs.
The Miz vs.
John MorrisonThe fresh wrinkle into this match is Miz and Morrison winning the tag belts. Why they won the belts, I don't know. It would have been easier to just have a tag team on Smackdown win the belts. I think Miz and Morrison will be more worried about one-upping each other to win the match itself. This is where Punk can shine. I think these 3 will put on a pretty good show. I haven't seen much out of the Miz but his character is flat out annoying. I guess he reminds me of that "ultra cool" guy from high school that you just wanted to knock the shit out of. I think Punk will retain the belt and continue his run as the best ECW Champion…ever.
My Projected Winner: CM Punk
WWE ChampionshipRandy Orton © vs.
Shawn Michaels From the stuff Monday night and it being Survivor Series, this thing screams "MONTREAL SCREW JOB" like a woman winning the lottery. I can't see anything that resembles a clean finish in this match. Honestly, I expect Orton to use the Sharpshooter and Vince call for the bell. It can't be done any other way. The stuff they talked about on RAW about the Superkick being banned and HBK using a submission move, it's the only way. Now, they could turn HBK heel by having Vince turn on Orton but I can't see that happening. It would be cool to see them team up, but they just had a long feud against each other when DX came back. Remember, there's no logic on the creative team, so that might happen. I don't think Orton will be giving up the title anytime soon, maybe not until Wrestlemania. A victory for Orton by some sick means would give him the heat he needs to be right up there with Edge as the industry's best heel.
My Projected Winner: Randy Orton
World Heavyweight ChampionshipHell in a CellBatista © vs.
The UndertakerThis feud should get a "Feud of the Year" award and it will in my Best of 2007 special. These two usually steal the show whenever they're on the card and that's not something I would have expected from Batista last year. They locked horns at Wrestlemania and stole the show. They've locked horns throughout the year with Undertaker usually getting the win. Throw in the Hell in a Cell and you're going to have one hell of a battle. I hope this is the main event on the card. I expect lots of blood and probably a few big spots. The ads I've seen concentrate of Undertaker tossing Mankind off the cell and then through the cell. I can't see anything but a great match from these two. I also expect this to be the time when Edge returns. I'm thinking when the match is over, his music and stuff will hit, then he'll come out and beat down whoever wins. I could see Edge getting the title before Undertaker and carrying it all the way until Wrestlemania. Then, they could have a streak vs. streak match, or at least that's what I would do if I were on the creative team. But, my gut instinct is it will be Undertaker walking away from this one. This is his specialty match. Then again, so was TLC to Edge and he lost to Cena.
My Projected Winner: The Undertaker
